Weekly Wrap-Up (August 14, 2016)

A new round of ROW80 has begun.
Progress on my goals is at the end of this post.

Personal Stuff
I got a new obsession this week: a Fitbit Alta.  It will hopefully lead to more healthy habits.  I love that I can track my calorie intake through the app, and it even tracks my sleep.  I am a goal-setter, and this little bracelet has me setting goals and working hard to meet them.  It's awesome.

What I read
I am starting The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.  I've heard a lot of good things about this book and I am excited to read it.

Interesting Stuff I Found on the Internet
This week I have become obsessed with Absolute Write, a writing forum that was recommended to me by someone on another writing forum.  There is so much information, I feel a little overwhelmed, but I am hoping to get help moving forward with my writing and editing goals.

ROW80 Goals
Round 3 of ROW80 has begun.  This round runs from July 4th to September 22nd.  I started a little late, so my number of weeks and days is a little different.  Here is my progress so far:

1.  Read 9 books (3/9)
I am currently reading The Book Thief.  Other books I have read this round are:
Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness
Armada by Ernest Cline
Wild by Cheryl Strayed

2.  Continue with my blogging schedule (4/10 weeks)
I am planning a few small changes to my blogging schedule, but so far I have been doing great with this goal.  You can check out my weekly posts through the links at the beginning of this post.

3.  Edit 5 chapters of ZF (0/5)
I would really like to complete this goal this round but I have not begun yet.

4.  Write daily (14/66 days)
Monday:  :(
Tuesday:  NaBloPoMo prompt
Wednesday: :(
Thursday: NaBloPoMo prompt
Friday:  :(
Saturday: NaBloPoMo prompt
Sunday:  NaBloPoMo prompt, Blogging

5.  Continue my Creative Every Day challenge
Pictures get posted on my Instagram if you want to follow my creative progress.  It's been too hot to crochet, so I started a coloring page this week.

6.  Swim at least twice a week. (3/10 weeks)

This week I did not swim.

How did your week go?
Do you have a blog post or interesting link you'd like to share with me?

  1. It's been a week of clearing things out to make room for other things. Lots of homeschool paperwork, beta reading, Accomplice resume writing, testing, revising, and the like.

It feels good to be moving forward on some things that had been rather stuck, and it'll feel even better when I get everything squared away. It's getting closer, and that's a good thing.

I've been adding words bit by bit to my open fan fiction project, because it's fun and Those Two pretty much always have something to say.

I'm also culling my goals list for the second half of the month, so that I can focus on the priorities.

I love your coloring page. My daughter has been getting a lot of use out of her colored pencils this week, too - I prefer gel pens for my art.

May you accomplish more, and more joyfully, than you thought possible! =D

  2. I loved The Book Thief, although be prepared for some tears. It's a really powerful, truly moving book. How did you like Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness? It's currently in my to-be-read pile and I'm looking forward to reading it.

Love the coloring page. I've recently taken up scrapbooking and am finding it a good alternative creative outlet. I have a few coloring books a friend gave me for Christmas, but I haven't colored in them too much. Maybe it's time to pull one out.

    Have a good week!
